If there’s one thing this past year has shown us, it’s that the Jewish People are truly one global family. In times of crisis, we come together to help those in need. As we approach the one-year anniversary of October 7th—the day that forever changed so many lives in Israel—I feel more strongly than ever that we need to show up for those who are still suffering.

Since that horrific day, Migdal Ohr has been at the forefront of turning trauma into triumph, helping thousands of children, families, and soldiers who lost everything. This cause is personal for me—my family’s connection to Migdal Ohr goes back generations. From my grandmother’s early involvement to my own time as President, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible work Rabbi Grossman and his team do to transform lives. Migdal Ohr doesn’t just step in during moments of crisis—it builds a foundation for the future.

Now, following the events of October 7th, that mission has grown even more critical. In addition to supporting 10,000 orphaned and at-risk children each year, Migdal Ohr has taken on the responsibility of caring for newly orphaned children, displaced families, and the soldiers defending Israel. We have been providing ongoing support to these displaced families who have lost their homes and livelihoods, and we will continue to stand by them as they rebuild their lives.

Over the past year, thanks to people like you, Migdal Ohr has been able to:

- Provide uninterrupted education and camps for thousands of children, despite the war.

- Offer special needs programs to give relief to families.

- Operate youth programs in 160 locations, supporting teens at risk.

- Refurbish safe shelters where children can spend extended time when necessary.

- Establish funds for hundreds of newly orphaned children, ensuring support for their future.

- Offer crisis counseling for children suffering from PTSD and anxiety.

- Support alumni in the IDF and those starting their lives independently.

- Celebrate life milestones, including bar/bat mitzvahs and weddings for children who have no family to mark these special moments with them.

- And, most critically, provide relief to displaced families who have nowhere else to turn.

Alongside these ongoing efforts, Migdal Ohr has also launched the Magen Israel Emergency Relief Effort, which has supported thousands of evacuees, soldiers, and families affected by the war.
