On Shabbat morning at 7 AM, The Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center was deliberately and intentionally set a flame by an individual who has since been arrested on charges of arson.
It was a clearly targeted attack on our facility and our Community.
Friday night, as we sat in the shul surrounded by our Hebrew School Students & Families, we were filled with pride!
We were horrifyingly woken up Shabbos morning to the news of the Shul burning!! More than surreal, the thought of NO Home for our Jewish Community, Hebrew School, Friendship Circle & Israel Heart 2 Heart was absolutely frightening.
The loss that we feel right now isn't just a loss of property but a loss to all those who count on us.
So we are turning to our community for help! When we began our center 10 years ago it was to create a home for the community at large. Despite the tremendous setback that this will cause, we will rebuild our home!! But we can't do it alone. We need your support now more than ever!!
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in helping us rebuild our Community Center and continue our vital programming. Together, we can overcome this tragedy and emerge stronger than ever before. Thank you for standing with us in this challenging time.

For those who know me, you've undoubtedly heard about my profound connection to the Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center, which has served as a second home throughout my years of involvement. However, on a tragic Shabbat morning at 7AM, our cherished center became the target of a deliberate act of arson, serving as a chilling testament to the enduring presence of Anti-Semitic sentiments in our society.
To those just learning about The Las Olas Jewish Center through this unimaginable devastation, I want to emphasize the significant positive impact our Chabad congregation has had on our community.
Initially, my involvement stemmed from being a founding member of Israel Heart2Heart, an organization dedicated to aiding IDF Warriors struggling with severe post-traumatic stress from their service in Israel. Since its inception, we've assisted over 65 soldiers, with plans to significantly expand our reach by year-end. Given the challenges faced by our brothers and sisters in Israel, this work is undeniably vital. From October 7th onward, our Organization has devoted countless months, weeks, days, and hours to coordinating the delivery of life-saving equipment from our South Florida community to our warriors through the Chabad.
Additionally, Friendship Circle, which offers crucial social and life skills programs for individuals with special needs, currently finds itself at a standstill.
Moreover, our Job Training & Life Skills Program, catering to special needs adults from all walks of life, has been thriving until the recent tragedy. Our kitchen and affiliated restaurant, vital for hands-on job training, have been destroyed, and our classroom suffered damage in the fire.
In light of recent events and the crucial work ahead, I humbly ask for your support in helping us rebuild our center and continue our vital community initiatives. Your donations will not only aid in restoring what was lost but also empower us to strengthen the bonds of compassion and resilience within our community, the Jewish People, and beyond. Anything helps! Thank you for your kindness and solidarity in this challenging time.
