The war of special families is only just beginning –
The fight to restore the mental resilience of our children
The war in Israel is still in very much in progress, but we are already a post-trauma country. Even on the home front, the emotional resilience and sense of security of the citizens have been severely impacted.
Many children on the autistic spectrum are particularly sensitive. They need (along with their parents) immediate assistance and support in order to successfully deal with their distress.
Autistic children in the Upper Galilee live on the conflict line. During these times, the breakdown of routine and the absolute uncertainty in which they find themselves is particularly difficult for these children to cope with and causes great suffering. This is all in addition to the regular challenges involved in raising special children.
Also, the auditory sensitivity of many autistic children is intensified by the persistent artillery shelling, sirens and the war planes flying overhead. Many families have been forced to evacuate the general tranquility of their homes to a strange and busy environment.
These changes, unfamiliar and uncertain situations add to the deterioration in the wellbeing of the special children, which has a direct impact on their mental resilience. If they do not receive timely help they so desperately need, the consequences can be long term.
Unfortunately, educational frameworks can only offer interrupted frameworks during this time. In addition, they suffer from a severe shortage of professionals and are unable to provide an individual response to the children.
This is where we need you!
Thanks to your donation, The Dialogue Center will be able to provide emotional support free of charge to autistic children and their parents, the victims of the war.
Please support us! Restoring the mental resilience of our children is the responsibility of all of us!
About Dialogue Center
Dialogue Center was established in 2023 by parents of autistic children and professionals in the field. We have firsthand knowledge of the challenges of special families. The Center’s services includes a clinic where individual therapy, group therapy sessions and parental guidance using the DIR method are offered.
Children and youth, who do not receive timely treatment, are at a higher risk of dropping out of school, self-harm, social isolation and other emotional complications, such as anxiety, depression and addictions.
Our goal is to provide children, youth and young people on the autistic spectrum with quality, accessible and free care to help improve their quality of life.
