Help Them Survive.

It’s been a year since Russia invaded Ukraine. One year since the lives of millions, including many thousands of our fellow Jews, were turned upside-down. People leading successful, happy lives became, in a matter of days, widows and widowers, orphans, homeless, refugees fleeing for their lives.

Most people mistakenly believe that the nightmare of the war ended when people escaped. This is far from the truth. While there have been over 8 million refugees, it is evident that this nightmare is ongoing. The situation remains a matter of survival.

From the beginning, TiKVA Odessa invested a huge amount of effort and resources to help Odessa’s Jews survive as they endure this terrible, grinding conflict. TiKVA helps in every area: hundreds of thousands meals have been served in Romania and Odessa, 1672 children were saved, and even bar mitzvahs and weddings were made and celebrated in the hardest of times.

TiKVA Odessa was the largest community to not only leave Ukraine, but also to remain intact. However, our brothers and sisters deserve more than to simply remain intact. Your help is needed to enable TIKVA to continue this vital work in building up these individuals. We must Help Them Survive.

Time has gone by, but the urgency to support our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and those who escaped has only increased. The nightmare is not over. In the beginning of the war, it seemed impossible not to help, but after a year, people have forgotten the gravity of the situation. We must not fall into that category: helping at this time is EXTREMELY URGENT!

For those trapped in Ukraine, we must HELP THEM SURVIVE and continue providing them with basic living needs as they try to keep their heads above water and ride out the storm.

For those who have fled the war, we must HELP THEM SURVIVE. The war has psychologically and emotionally traveled with the refugees. TiKVA Odessa is helping these refugees resettle in Romania, where they are rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
