Their names are Aleksei, Tamara, Moishe, Sarah, Vyktor and Oksana.
They are mothers, fathers, singles, old, young, religious, secular and everything in-between.
They have three things in common:
They are Jewish.
They are desperate to leave Ukraine.
And they are turning to us for help.
For the past 32 years, Bais Aharon v’Yisroel has been actively building Jewish life in Ukraine. Day schools, shuls, mikvaos, camps, and welfare programs for the poor and the elderly were founded and flourished in Kyiv, Lviv, Pinsk, and other cities that had been devoid of Jews for decades.
Now, after investing so much in establishing the Ukrainian Jewish community, we need your help to pull everyone out.
Now...
With every day that passes, it becomes more and more difficult to move people out of Ukraine. All buses are being requisitioned by the Ukrainian army. The number of drivers willing to take the chance on driving civilians for hours over dangerous roads is dwindling, and crossing the border becomes more perilous almost by the hour.
And the more difficult it gets, the more money it takes.
As of now, it costs a minimum of $2500 per person just to get across the border. And that’s if everything goes smoothly. If it doesn’t…
But there’s more...
Once people are out of harm’s way, they still need somewhere to sleep and food to eat. They need clothing because they’ve left everything behind. They need heat.
They need you.
Whoever saves one Jewish life, it is considered as if he’s saved an entire world (Sanhedrin 37a).
Our command center in Belarus is literally working 24/7, including Shabbos, because this is a life-and-death situation. We will not stop until we’ve helped every single Jew who contacts us - and made sure that there are no more left behind who weren’t able to.
Because each Jew is a world, and there are thousands of worlds waiting in Ukraine.
Help us help them. Before it’s too late.
