Bnei Akiva of the US and Canada is the premier religious Zionist youth movement dedicated to growing generations of Jews committed to building a society devoted to Torah and the Jewish people in the state of Israel. Our robust programming reaches Jewish youth at every stage – from childhood to gap year, and from post-college and beyond. Thousands of children join our sniffim (chapters) in gillim (cities) across the US & Canada for weekly experiential activities and Shabbatonim focused on Israel, Zionism and Torah. Our teen leaders are prepared with top-of-the-line leadership training through multiple year-round programs. During the summers, thousands of participants join Bnei Akiva summer programs through the Moshava Ba’ir Day Camp network, Mach Hach BaAretz, and Moshava Sleepaway camps.
Our TVA Yeshiva & Midrasha programs infuse Torah v’Avodah into our high school graduates’ daily lives. Bogrim/college-age programming in Israel and the US connects our young adult participants to the movement they love, bringing them together for Shabbat meals, chessed projects, and leadership opportunities. As our participants begin their own families, many take on leadership roles and the full Bnei Akiva community-family cycle continues.
Kedma, an Israel based non profit, runs volunteer initiatives in Israel with the goal of bridging the gap between global Jewry and Israel. Kedma connects students, individuals, and families with a robust network of non profits that reaches all sectors of Israeli society. From volunteering at battered women’s shelters, soup kitchens, Israel’s Parks Authority, and after school programs for at-risk kids (to name a few of the causes with which Kedma partners), Kedma empowers its volunteers to give back in unique and meaningful ways.
Kedma has impacted thousands of student volunteers through its weekly Kedma Volunteer Program, through which gap year students volunteer at non profits throughout Jerusalem, and through the Kedma Cohort Volunteer Leadership Program for Women. Kedma has also opened its volunteer network to families celebrating milestone occasions through its Marking Milestones program, which enables families to integrate volunteering and infuse meaning into their celebrations.
