Let's Protect Our Babies

Tragedy isn't preventable but we can do our hishtadlus. We have all heard about tragedies involving babies left in hot cars.

CleverElly is a small solution to a big problem: A simple device that plugs into any car's cigarette lighter. This device plays ten assorted reminders to check the backseat as soon as your car's engine goes off.

Concerned individuals, including Hatzolah members, therapists, and other askanim have banded together to purchase CleverEllys in bulk for distribution.

Our goal is to get a CleverElly device into every car in our communities.

Please help us check each township and city off our list, one by one. Your donation allows us to purchase this device for every car, every family, and to protect every baby.

This will save lives.

Chesky & Batsheva Abramsky

For The Babies Foundation

Some background about this initiative:

Before my daughter was born two and a half years ago, I researched backseat car reminders relentlessly. I was also about to have a baby after a long gap, and my current routines and habits were about to change. Witnessing a mother leave her baby in the car over eleven years prior (with a good outcome, Baruch Hashem) also stayed with me, and I was determined to do my Hishtadlus.

CleverElly appeared in one of my Google searches, and I was sold. This device was simple to install, easy to use, and didn't require anything but the one-piece device. Other options were expensive or involved apps and complicated phone settings. The reviews I read about car seat sensor options shared that many would malfunction easily.

After using the CleverElly device for over two years and with Baruch Hashem a baby boy as well, my husband had a brainstorm. "What if," he asked me, "We got these into every frum car?" An experienced Hatzolah member for close to ten years, he's seen his fair share of scares and tragedy. He was a fan of the device as well but was skeptical. Is there a better option? And so his research began.

After weeks of research, Chesky was satisfied that this was the best option for our mission and contacted the CleverElly brand and began a correspondence. The brand, which three friends in Australia founded, is a nonprofit. Would they be willing to lower the cost for a bulk order? After lots of time and effort, we placed an order.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck Lakewood shortly after. This initiative is not in response to tragedy; it has been in the works for quite some time. We have also been working on another baby-related Chessed project and hope to launch soon.

Please join us as we do what we can For The Babies.

Thank you.
