Historic Charity in Support of Our impoverished Brethren in Eretz Yisroel
This pure charity, which was established nearly 200 years ago by the Kedoshim of yesteryear, such as theholy Rebbe of Sanz, zy”a, in conjunction with The holy tzadikim from Ropshitz, Dinov, Belz, etc., is among the largest, most dependable tzedakos that the Yidden in Eretz Yisrael, to the tune of 7,000 families totaling more than 30,000 souls, have come to rely on. Many, many millions are distributed annually to provide basic bread and butter to thousands of families.
A year of tremendous financial distress
DEAR FELLOW YIDDEN! This past year has been an especially difficult one. It has brought terrible poverty to our brethren such as has not been experienced by Yidden in Eretz Yisroel in decades!
Yidden who were decent earners were left penniless. Hundreds of typical merchants were, unfortunately, forced to close shop for good. Thousands of employees lost their jobs. There is no federal relief for these thousands of families…no food distribution and no stimulus checks. These many families are now completely reliant on tzedakas R’ Meir Baal Haness to make it through the week; how much more so to make it through a month of Yamim Tovim. At the same time, the income for the R’ Meir Baal Haness tzedaka fund has fallen drastically due to the lack of dinners and other fundraising events, as a result of Covid-19.
