We, the Parents of IDF Soldier Amit Bonzel H'YD, Invite You to Take Part in the Great Mitzvah of Building a Synagogue in His Memory
(Donations to this project are tax-deductible. You may also donate in multiple installments with no interest)
First Sgt. Amit Bonzel from Shoham, a brave IDF commander of the Paratroopers Brigade's reconnaissance unit, was killed in combat al Kidush Hashem during the ground offensive against Hamas terror organization in Gaza Strip.
Amit was only 22 years old when he fell. Yet, he lived beyond his lifetime, leaving us a legacy of meaningful handwritten letters, notes and inspiring sentences. One of them, which stood out from the rest, had a profound mark on the entire Israeli society and was quoted by both President Itzhak Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
"I Feel That We're Living Through a Very Critical Time in History. So, Let's Make Sure We End it with a Crushing Victory. I Am Proud to Serve in the Israeli Military, Shabbat Shalom"
Now, these deeply affecting and touching words will be engraved on the eternal copper plate in 'Hechal Amit' synagogue, which is being built these days by Chabad distinguished community in Carmei Gat. The synagogue is almost finished, with the flooring now in process, and will be named after our holy and hero son Amit - May his memory be blessed and his name and values forever enshrined in the hearts of those who enter this holly house.
Amit, who not only pushed and encouraged those around him, was also constantly searching for answers. Unlike the 'TikTok Generation', Amit spent much of his time looking deeply into his soul and writing everything down - until the pages turned yellow. His goal was to create his own set of values. At the age of 22, Amit was always the light that shined bright. May this synagogue serve as a living tribute to his memory.
We consider it a great privilege to build this synagogue in memory of Amit - Join us as we honor the life and legacy of our son, who has long since become - the son of all the people of Israel!
Yasher Koach!
