באש לבנותה

Crowdfunding campaign to rebuild the devastated shul Kehillat Mishkan HaEtrog, Givat Zev

For years, Mishkan HaEtrog in Givat Zev was bursting at the seams, with dozens of avreichim and bachurim, men and boys of all ages joining together on Shabbosos, Yomim Tovim and during the week to daven, learn, listen to shiurei Torah and grow individually and as a community. The shul, housed in a temporary structure, was far too small to accommodate the ever-swelling number of community members, but what the shul lacked in physical space, they compensated for in warmth and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

And then, several months ago, calamity struck! One night, a fire broke out in shul. The bright yellow flames consumed everything in their path, leaving tragedy and disaster in their wake and reducing a beautiful shul to ashes.

Every Jewish heart weeps upon the devastation. Who can remain indifferent to the anguish?

And yet, characteristic of our nation of heroes, we stood up and brushed ourselves off, determined to carry on. It wasn’t just about carrying on, but about discovering the opportunity that arose from the tragedy.

Instead of rebuilding a temporary structure, it was time to build a beautiful a true palace for Hashem!

Plans are underway, and everything is set. Yet if we cannot manage to find the resources, all of our efforts will have been in vain.

We need you! We need each and every one of us you! We are all taking part in this colossal initiative and lending our support to the congregation so we can soon celebrate the chanukas habayis of Kehillas Mishkan HaEtrog.
