What is Mas Hakohol?

We, the Crown Heights community, are blessed to have three rabbonim, who make themselves available at any hour, and all hours, to listen and guide us through our halachic questions, no matter how big or small.

Mas Hakohol was instituted soon after the founding of the Beis Din in 1986, to provide a livelihood to the elected Rabbonim, so that they may continue to be there for us in our hour of need.

Mas Hakohol is not charity. It is a communal obligation.

The Shulchan Aruch (Choshen Mishpat Siman Tes) describes the custom of creating a fund for community rabbis to which everyone should pay an annual sum (preferably at the beginning of every year): “...For it is an obligation upon the Jewish People to pay their Rabbis.

Join us for a stronger Beis Din. And a stronger community.

Participate in this fund in the amount of $180 for 5780, or with a recurring monthly donation of $15.

Our goal 1,000 enrollments between 18 Elul and Rosh Hashana. Be a member of the community.
