Chevra Ahavas Yisroel
Goal $30,000
We are heartbroken to inform you about the sudden passing of a legend and the pillar of our community, Shloime Freundlich. On the auspicious first night of Passover, the 15th of Nissan, our holy Bundy’s soul rose to be with Hashem and the other angels. Shloime Ben Moshe passed within the same week as his beloved father’s Yartzeit, for whom he had just said Kaddish. He left behind a community of people whose lives he touched, connected, and uplifted. He was the first to go to bat for the people he loved and for the things he believed in. We were blessed and lucky to count him as a friend and our guardian angel. Our community will never be the same without him. He was a fierce proponent of making sure every Chassidishe Yom Tov was celebrated, and that we always had Torah learning on our schedule; he loved a good story and he loved Torah. There are so many behind the scenes things he had a hand in orchestrating, so many people who met lifelong friends and loves through him. He shepherded new people to Crown Heights around until they found a circle to belong to, and even then he still always texted to ask if they needed a meal and to wish them a good Shabbos. Bundy meals were legendary, stuffed to the brim with people from all walks of life and united by Bundy's enormous heart.
Thank you for everything Bundy. You were so funny and fabulous, and as a wise Peter once said, “a five leaf clover...there will never be another like him in our lifetimes.” As his beloved community, we are honored with making sure he has a proper send-off and funeral. There’s nothing more Bundy then us all uniting once more to send money for something Bundy is collecting for. In lieu of a PayPal/Venmo request from him, we ask that you give and give generously to ensure we can cover his burial costs. (If there is anything left over, it will be put in a special fund for communal Shabbos “Bundy” meals.) Due to CoronaVirus, Bundy’s first funeral will likely be sparsely attended for the safety of our community, but in true Bundy fashion, when this is all over, we will host a second funeral gathering with the enormous amount of people whose lives Bundy touched, one befitting of the King he was. We will also be hosting a zoom memorial service in Shloime Ben Moshe’s honor tomorrow night. Funeral details will be posted on the Chevra Ahavas Yisroel Facebook page when finalized. We love you forever Bundy and will never forget you! ❤️
