This is the life story of Vlad Sergienko

,Losing a beloved father at the age of 15

,moving alone to Israel at 20

overcoming the hardships of adaptation

,and language barriers

,always staying positive

,loving the country

demonstrating commitment and perseverance

,and giving everything you have

Successfully serving in the army

,as a lone soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade

volunteering out of a sense of duty

,to assist other lone soldiers with dedication

,integrating into Israeli society

,finding the love of your life

,building a family

.becoming a devoted young father

... And then

 Enlisting to reservist duty

,without hesitation on October 7

serving 238 days

,out of deep national responsibility

,breaking down

,falling into severe emotional distress

... Ending his life at the age of 31

-------------

Why we started the project

and we need your help

Vlad left behind

,his heartbroken widow, Anna

two precious children

,from her previous marriage

and their mutual baby Aviel

.who is only one and a half years old

,A family in severe financial distress

,including his elderly mother

who is broken with grief

.and is unable to function

,And on top of all this –

Vlad is not officially recognized

as a fallen soldier

.by the Ministry of Defense's Families Department

This means that his family

does not receive the support they rightfully deserve

.and desperately need

,The family must fight a legal battle

to secure the recognition

,that is so fundamentally legitimate

in order to receive

...proper assistance and support

A story filled with love and selflessness

,in the past

.but without a present or a future

.Only immense pain and incomprehension

After everything that our Vlad

,gave and endured

he was left without recognition

,as a fallen soldier

and his family is in financial

,and emotional distress

... struggling to survive

!That is why they urgently need help

,To save the family

and to finance the legal

proceedings necessary

for Vlad to be recognized

.as a fallen soldier of the IDF

!Thank you

And by extension...

Vlad Sergienko was a man of great spirit,

a gentle soul and rare beauty.

A pure-hearted person with endless kindness,

sensitive and beloved by those around him.

He was always there to help

anyone who turned to him,

doing so with unwavering dedication

and a warm heart.

People called him a great soul.

An unconditional volunteer,

an exemplary family man.

a person who loved others

and valued deep,

genuine connections above all else.

,He immigrated to Israel alone

,relying on his inner strength

courage, and faith

,Then came the love of his life

,Anna

.along with her two beautiful children

,A shared future, big dreams

,hopes, long-term plans

,a warm and loving home

and together they now have

 .three children

A loving family dedicated to charity

and helping others.

In addition to Vlad’s willingness

to assist anyone in need,

Vlad and Anna also became a host family

for a new immigrant from Russia

who came to Israel

.through the Naale program

,Life presented him with many challenges

but his deep love for his country

,and his family

,gave him the strength to overcome them

.time and time again

... Then came the catastrophe of October 7

Even though his son, Aviel,

was only 4 months old,

Vlad, in the wake of the disaster,

out of a profound sense of duty

to the fate of Israel,

did not hesitate for a moment

when he received his reserve duty call-up and enlisted.

The long service, the heartbreak,

and the heavy toll of war

affected him deeply,

leaving a lasting mark.

The harsh and bitter reality struck him

in a way that left no way back.

The emotional and psychological burden

grew heavier and heavier.

His mental state deteriorated,

and his spirit shattered.

His family saw the signs,

recognized that he needed

mental health support and help,

but the Ministry of Defense

ignored their pleas.

On November 13, 2024

After a long

and agonizing period,

his mental distress

overwhelmed him.

Vlad could

no longer hold on,

could no longer cope

with the deep scars

in his soul.

He reached

his breaking point

and ended his life.

A young family,

once full of love and dreams,

was left shattered and broken,

disconnected from reality.

Their world collapsed,

and they fell into deep sorrow and grief.

Anna, a young widow,

was left alone with three children,

one of whom is only a year and a half old.

Vlad’s mother, Lilia,

is in deep sorrow,

struggling with severe mental distress

and has been unable to function

since his passing.

She requires ongoing medical,

emotional, and psychological support.

If you thought the hardship ended here

… you’re mistaken

Unfortunately,

all these difficulties did not end there.

Due to the circumstances of his death,

Vlad is still not recognized

as a fallen soldier of the IDF

by the Ministry of Defense’s Families Department.

As a result,

his family does not receive

the support they deserve

and desperately need,

especially in these difficult

and painful times.

The family is forced to fight for their rights

through a long

and exhausting legal process

that demands extensive resources

– both emotional and financial.

Given the situation,

the family has sought legal representation

to secure their rights,

but this process

comes with heavy financial costs.

As of today,

the investigation is delayed,

and the family has yet to receive

the investigation report or a response

to their request for Vlad’s recognition

as a fallen soldier of Israel’s security forces.

Anna and the children

need our help now –

more than ever.

They are alone,

struggling to cope

with this devastating loss.
