Bring Joy to IDF Widows and Orphans This Purim

Vaad Hatzedaka INC

Goal $150,000

As we approach the joyous festival of Purim, our hearts are heavy with the knowledge that for many families in Israel, this celebration will be bittersweet. Widows and orphans of fallen IDFsoldiers, who sacrificed everything to protect our homeland since Hamas’ murderous attack on the 7th of October, are facing a holiday without the warmth and laughter their beloved fathers once brought to their homes.

Vaad Hatzdaka has been helping these families since the beginning of the war. The families have been receiving constant support, both moral and material, so that none of them will go without their basic needs and beyond. From aid with paying for basic necessities up to rechargeable credit cards to buy the little extras, Vaad Hatzdaka has made a firm commitment to standing at their sides.

The month of Adar teaches us to increase our joy—but how can these families truly rejoice when their greatest source of happiness has been taken from them?

These brave widows are determined to honor the memory of their husbands by ensuring their children experience the Purim they would have had if their fathers were still alive. They want to fill their homes with the same excitement, costumes, and festive meals—reminding their children that even in the face of loss, love and joy endure. But they cannot do it alone. They need our support to make this vision a reality, to bring light into the darkness that has touched their lives.

This Purim, your donation through Vaad Hatzdaka is more than just financial support—it’s a message to these families that they are not forgotten. It’s a way of standing with them in solidarity, honoring the memory of their loved ones, and ensuring their children feel the embrace of a caring community. Every contribution helps provide Mishloach Manot, costumes, festive meals, and much-needed emotional support to uplift these grieving families.

Let us come together to turn their sorrow into strength and their mourning into moments of joy. Help us give these widows and orphans the Purim they deserve—a celebration of resilience, love, and the unbreakable bond that ties us all together as one nation, one family.
