“...modern, innovative, relevant and inviting spaces for our students.”
Over the past six months, with the help of contributions made to Blackfriars through the 2022 Annual Appeal, the northern side of the Hallinan library has been completely transformed, creating our new Wellbeing Centre and Primary Library - each with their own private gardens – and an expanded IT hub.
This summer our attention turns to Stage 2 of the library complex, as we create a modern, high-tech environment that will take our students’ learning to the next level.
“We’re so proud of what we have already been able to achieve with Stage 1 of the library redevelopment,” Principal David Ruggiero said.
“We look forward to transforming the remaining library space to create a 21st-century learning environment that will take us well into the future.”
Stage 2 of the Hallinan Library redevelopment includes formal study areas, a dedicated training space and upgraded offices for Learning Innovation and Digital Technology.
Books will remain at the heart of the library with new shelves set to provide better access to our extensive collection and new furniture to help create a mix of formal and informal spaces for learning and relaxation.
“The full redevelopment of the Hallinan Library will benefit Blackfriars students for years to come,” Mr Ruggiero said.
“We are pleased to be able to continue to provide modern, innovative, relevant and inviting spaces for our students.”
And in the spirit of the Dominican pillar of Community we invite you to help us make this happen through a contribution to the 2024 Annual Appeal.
Gifts to the 2024 Annual Appeal are made through the Blackfriars Building Fund and are tax deductible.
What is the Annual Appeal?
Blackfriars is committed to providing students with opportunities to grow and develop the skills necessary for their future. However, the reality is that schools such as Blackfriars cannot grow and thrive on fees alone.
This is why donations from our community are so important.
The Blackfriars Annual Appeal is one of the most important ways in which our school is able to raise funds for advancement projects.
Each year, Blackfriars reaches out to its community to support a specific project via the Annual Appeal.
Every gift, large or small, makes a difference.
